Care
Jewellery care
A few simple habits keep your pieces looking as they should.
Every day
Last on, first off.
- Put jewellery on after perfume, creams and hairspray.
- Take it off before swimming, bathing, exercise and household cleaning.
- Store each piece separately, in a soft pouch or lined box, so pieces don't scratch one another.
- Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth after wearing.
By material
Silver, gold and diamonds.
Sterling silver
Silver naturally tarnishes over time. A silver polishing cloth restores its brightness; avoid abrasive cleaners.
Gold-plated sterling silver
Plated surfaces are delicate. Avoid polishing cloths with chemicals, and keep pieces dry. With wear, a plated layer can soften over time.
Solid gold
Clean with warm water, a drop of mild soap and a soft brush; rinse and dry thoroughly.
Diamonds
Diamonds attract oils from skin and creams. Gentle cleaning with warm soapy water and a soft brush brings back their light.
